WASHINGTON (December 1, 2016) - – The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal trade association for the software and digital content industries, announced the winners of the first Company CODiE Awards, part of its annual CODiE Awards line-up. The new awards program recognizes outstanding teams and individuals for their accomplishments, leadership and commitment to the industry.
The CODiE Awards are the only peer-reviewed awards of their kind and, for over 30 years, have recognized thousands of software, information and education technology companies for achieving excellence in products and services. The all-new 2016 Company CODiE Awards winner in the Best Product Team of the Year category is the Burlington, Massachusetts-based, EvoText, Inc.
"Everyone in the company contributes to product," said EvoText Co-Founder and CEO Johanna Wetmore. "Analysts, Project Management, Designers, Engineers, QA, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Management—and also our end-users. While developing Ogment, we partnered closely with several school districts around the country and met with their teachers regularly for 18 months. Their input was invaluable and made Ogment a better product. I’m pleased that our company culture impressed the CODiE judges, making it clear we are creators, doers, and most of all, teammates. I am humbled to work with such a fine group of people and extend my sincerest gratitude to the SIIA for making EvoText a company to watch."
"SIIA’s 2016 CODiE Award winners are some of the most innovative, high-impact products out there," said SIIA Karen Billings, Vice President and Managing Director of the ETIN-SIIA. "We congratulate all of this year’s CODiE Award winners, and thank them for the contributions they have made to education, and the software industry as a whole."
The award marks the third time EvoText has been recognized by the SIIA, having won a 2015 CODiE Award for Best Cloud Based solution as chief developers of SpringBoard Digital, and earning a 2016 CODiE Award for Ogment in the Best Cross-curricular Solution category.

About the SIIA CODiE™ Awards
The SIIA CODiE™ Awards were established in 1986 by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), so that pioneers of the then-nascent software industry could evaluate and honor each other’s work. Since then, the CODiE Awards program has carried out the same purpose – to celebrate the software and information industry’s finest products and services.
The SIIA CODiE Awards are the industry's only peer-reviewed awards program. The first round review of all nominees is conducted by media, publishing, and information services executives with considerable industry expertise, including members of the industry, analysts, media and bloggers, and bankers and investors. The judges are responsible for selecting the CODiE Awards finalists. SIIA members then vote on the finalist products and scores from both rounds are tabulated to select the winners.
